Dick DoutyJazzFresno and the Fresno County Public Libraries host (free and open to the public) Jazz at the Library on Tuesday, May 19, 2015 at 7:00 p.m. at the Woodward Park Regional County Library located at 944 E. Perrin Ave. (Champlain & Perrin).

Dick Douty, classical and jazz tubist, will present the topic “The Roots of Jazz.” Dick will talk about the origin of this evolving, improvisational art form, and the vital role jazz has played in the expression of American freedom.

Dick, along with the other members of the “Raisin City Stompers,” Robert Alfaro, clarinet; Bob Bennett, banjo; Bill Johnson, trombone, and Bill Sharp, trumpet will provide live music.
