Freddy Cole  - Sunday March 2nd, 2008 - 7:30pm at The Tower Theatre

Freddy Cole Vocalist Freddy Cole brings his classic and distinctive vocal stylings to Fresno for this special event at the Tower Theatre. Freddy Cole doesn't apologize for sounding like his brother Nat King Cole. There are certain unmistakable similarities between the two. Like his brother Nat, Freddy both sings and plays piano, and performs in a trio with guitar and upright bass. Yet Freddy's voice is raspier, smokier even jazzier, and his timing swings a little more. His vocals are suave, elegant, and articulate - among the most respected in jazz. JazzFresno members will receive a $5 discount on tickets. Visit for more info and tickets.

Saturday September 27th & Sunday September 28th

Marcus RobertsThe Fresno Philharmonic opens its 2008/2009 season with the William Saroyan Centennial Concert, September 27th and 28th at the Saroyan Theatre. From the hot jazz of George Gershwin interpreted by the Marcus Roberts Trio, to a world premiere by Fresno's own Jack Fortner, Maestro Kuchar's season opening program invites everyone to celebrate the musical richness and diversity of American music.
Since bursting upon the jazz scene as the pianist for the Wynton Marsalis Septet, Marcus Roberts has become one of the leading jazz artists of our time. Hear for yourself why critics call his Trio's performances with orchestra of Gershwin's Rhapsody in Blue "unforgettable," "spectacular," and "dazzling."
Saturday, September 27 - 8:00pm / Sunday, September 28 - 2:30pm - William Saroyan Theatre
