Saturday August 5th @ the Starline

On any given evening, one need only walk the streets of Fresno’s Tower district and you will hear music… Beautiful music !  That magical place provides Fresno’s up and coming musicians a venue in which to sharpen their skills. Whether you’re looking for music by the Beatles, the Doors, or a host of the world’s best known Jazz artists, one thing is for certain. You will hear it played in the Tower district. Many local musicians have begun paying homage to their favorite artists by re-creating that artist’s sound as a Musical Tribute. The Local group headlining the evening at the Starline  in the Tower district  Saturday August 5th is no exception. However…these guys aren’t kids anymore. This band came to life on the back of a bar napkin over 20 years ago, and has taken the last 2 years to put it all together. But it has well been worth it so says the excited group of guests who have caught their act in venus throughout the valley. And now as they say ..”Back by popular Demand” ..  SOULED OUT   brings that Oakland style, East Bay Funk sound of the Legendary Tower of  Power  back to the Starline. Local vocalist and lifelong valley resident Bob Bergthold, has teamed up with one of Fresno’s Premier drummers George Ramirez, to put together a group of players with some of the most impressive credentials in the history of the Fresno music scene.  Each member brings to the table a long history of playing alongside of some of the giants in the music industry. With each player bringing more than 25 years experience. This isn’t your typical “Garage” or “Pick-up” band. With an Amazing “Wall of Sound” starting with an Incredible 5 piece Horn Section, a Rythum section that rivals the T.O.P.  veterans, and all fronted by the powerfull vocals of Bob Bergthold. The Valley has never heard Funk/Jazz like this. These guys will take you all the way back to “Bump City”.
