Blue TrainIn honor of Jazz Appreciation Month, The Fresno County Library and JazzFresno present a free discussion on the life and music of John Coltrane, by local jazz musician and educator Les Nunes. The event takes place at 7:00pm on Wednesday April 25th at the Woodard Park Regional Library. In addition to the lecture, the acclaimed Buchanan High School Jazz Combo will perform some of Coltrane's compositions. The students were recently honored at the prestigious Monterey Jazz Festival Next Generation competition as one of the nation's outstanding high school jazz combos. 2007 marks the 40th anniversary of John Coltrane's death, and the 50th anniversary of one of his greatest recordings, Blue Train.
