Jazz @ the Library - The Making of the CD “The Poetry of Jazz”


and the Fresno County Public Libraries host (free and open to the public) Jazz @ the Library, Tuesday, March 21, 2017 at 7:00 p.m. at the Woodward Park Regional County Library located at 944 E. Perrin Ave. (Champlain & Perrin).

The topic of the Jazz at the Library presentation will be the Making of the CD, “The Poetry of Jazz.” Saxophonist and composer Dr. Benjamin Boone, along with several other leading local musicians, will provide you with an inside view of their collaboration with U.S. Poet Laureate and Pulitzer Prize winning poet Philip Levine, and the making of the upcoming CD, “The Poetry of Jazz.”

The Milestones Youth Jazz Workshop Spring Jazz-a-Thon at the The Painted Table on April 20, 2013 from 2 p.m. to 10 p.m.

Join us for an incredible day of jazz featuring Eva Scow and Espacio, Karen Marguth, The Fresno City College Faculty Combo, and a host of other valley jazz greats. Each of the Milestones groups will also be performing in this celebration concert that caps off Milestones’ inaugural year. The program benefits JazzFresno's Milestones Youth Jazz Workshop.

Also available will be a delicious array of appetizers and libations from the talented team at The Painted Table.

Jazz @ the Library - Jazz from Different Perspectives


and the Fresno County Public Libraries host (free and open to the public) Jazz @ the Library, Tuesday, February 21, 2017 at 7:00 p.m. at the Woodward Park Regional County Library located at 944 E. Perrin Ave. (Champlain & Perrin).

The Italian guitarists Eugenio Polacchini and Matteo Minozzi, Bruskers Guitar Duo, will present the topic “Jazz from Different Perspectives.” Two classical guitars and the jazz repertoire serve as a common ground for the renditions of the Bruskers Guitar Duo. They come from different backgrounds, classical for Eugenio and the modern music world for Matteo, and they combine their experience revisiting jazz standards as well as bossa nova and Brazilian music. Their repertoire also includes soundtracks and original compositions, always arranged with a unique style.

Milestones Summer Jazz Day Camp

JazzFresno's Milestones Youth Jazz Workshop is proud to present Summer Jazz Day Camp right here in Fresno! The camp will take place on Monday, June 17 through Saturday, June 22 from 9 am to noon each day at Ahwahnee Middle School.

Summer Jazz Day Camp is for jazz musicians and aspiring jazz musicians alike, from those just entering middle school to those recently graduated from high school. A faculty of outstanding jazz educators and musicians will lead jazz combos and provide master classes and instruction in jazz theory and improvisation for kids playing at every level. All instruments are welcome, including strings!

Registration to the camp is limited to 56 kids. The cost to attend the camp is just $125 before May 1. More information, faculty bios and registration is available on the Milestones website.
