categoryimage Richard Giddens Trio + David Roitstein

New West Guitar Group Here's the scene:

We take a powerhouse local jazz trio and invite some of the world's most highly respected jazz musicians to perform in our Community Gallery. The musicians set up in front of the fireplace, and the audience surrounds them on three sides.

No distractions, no big-screen TVs. No cell phone recording. Not a bad seat in the house.

Before the show begins, free appetizers will be provided by our partners at Veni Vidi Vici, and drinks will be available for purchase.
Seating is limited to 75 people so early ticket purchase is suggested.

Your ticket purchase goes directly to musicians and helps us to continue this jazz series.

Pianist and composer David Roitstein is the Jazz Program Director at California Institute of the Arts. He received his degrees from the University of Miami, where as a young musician performed and recorded with a wide variety of artists, from Jaco Pastorius to Pat Metheny, Mel Torme, and Frank Sinatra.

David moved to Los Angeles in 1981, and, together with the world-renowned bassist Charlie Haden, created the innovative and award-winning CalArts Jazz Program in 1983. In 1990, with the support of Capitol Records and EMI Music, he established the annual CalArts Jazz CD project. Since then, he has produced nineteen CDs at Capitol Studios, documenting original compositions by CalArts students.
