JazzFresno and the Fresno County Public Libraries host (free and open to the public) Jazz at the Library on Tuesday, October 23rd, 2012 at 7:00 p.m. at the Woodward Park Regional County Library located at 944 E. Perrin Ave. (Champlain & Perrin). Mark Ribera, local freelance instrumentalist/singer, will give a presentation titled “Man Singers: A look at three generations of the male baritone voice in jazz.” This presentation, which will include live performances by Mark (vocals/saxophone), Craig VonBerg (piano), John Lauffenburger (bass) and Brian Hamada (drums), will highlight the careers of jazz vocalists Johnny Hartman, Mark Murphy, and Kurt Elling from the post big band era through the advent of rock music and encompassing the current music landscape.
