local area jazz trombonist and educator Les Nunes and his Jazz Sextet,
as he takes you on a one and a half hour musical journey through the
history of jazz. From will start with the blues then proceed through
ragtime, New Orleans and Chicago traditional jazz, swing, bebop, cool,
hard bop, funky jazz, free jazz, fusion and modern jazz styles. In
addition to hearing the history of jazz, you will be treated to great
information on how to listen to jazz while the band actually stops and
lets the listener see how the music is put together instrument by
instrument in each of the different styles. You won’t want to miss this
musical journey with some of the Valley’s best jazz musicians!
