Local singer Merlinda Espinosa with the help of Les Nunes and a few of the area’s best Latin musicians will present this year’s book for the “Big Read” entitled “Bless Me, Ultima”. Merlinda will sing Mexican folk and Latin songs that represent the characters and themes of the book “Bless Me, Ultima” by Rudolfo Anaya. For those not familiar with the book, it is considered a classic in Chicano literature and even more popular today than it was when released in 1972. You are going to be in for a real treat as this book is discussed and music is set to it by one of our area's premier and most popular Latino vocalists.
