Bill Mays "Inventions Trio"

Sunday November 25th at Fresno State

Marvin Stamm and Bill Mays

Celebrated pianist, composer, and arranger Bill Mays has joined forced with jazz trumpet virtuoso Marvin Stamm, and cellist Alisa Horn, for an innovative project called "Inventions" which explores new sounds inspired equally by jazz and classical music. The group performs in Fresno on Sunday November 25th at 7:30pm, in a special non-subscription concert of the Philip Lorenz Keyboard Concert Series. The event takes place at the Fresno State Concert Hall, and is sponsored by JazzFresno and 90.7 KFSR. Bill Mays extraordinarily versatile career has brought him together with many of the world’s leading jazz artists including Al Jarreau, Gerry Mulligan, Toots Thielemans, and Ron Carter. Along with over one hundred recordings (including seventeen under his own name) Bill's concert and studio credits include a who's who of modern music, everyone from Benny Golson to Gerry Mulligan to Sarah Vaughan. His latest CD "Inventions" was released by Palmetto Records in August 2007.
