Celebrate Arte Américas 20th Anniversary with a special concert featuring Latin jazz icon Pete Escovedo and his Latin Jazz Orchestra. Escovedo was the first Latin jazz artist to perform at Arte Américas in 1989, and his return this year kicks off the 2007 Nights in the Plaza Friday night concert seriess. Pete Escovedo is a major force in Latin music; he can go from Latin jazz to salsa to rock and Latin pop and beyond. You won’t want to miss this special Memorial Day weekend concert!

May is here, and that means its time for the annual spring concerts from two of Fresno's collegiate jazz programs, Fresno City College and Fresno State. On Friday night, May 4th the Fresno State Jazz Bands "A" and "B" (directed by Michael Caldwell and Craig Von Berg respectively) and the jazz combo Protean Visions will perform in a concert at Fresno State's Concert Hall, beginning at 7:30pm. Then on Monday night, May 7th, the Fresno City College Jazz Ensemble and the City College Latin Jazz Ensemble will perform at The Starline in Fresno's Tower District, in a special concert / live recording session. Congratulations to all of the students for their accolades and hard work this spring!
